Here are some useful honey recipes for your health. These recipes should not take the place of a doctor's advice.
Sore Throats
Drink tea with honey and lemon added to your taste. Or try this recipe.
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1 tbsp honey
Mix together in a mug. Fill mug with hot water and sip.
Asthma and Hay Fever
Take 1 tsp local honey once per day to boost immunity and prevent asthma. This should not be used to stop an asthma attack. Use an emergency inhaler.
For hay fever, start taking daily doses of local bee pollen 6 weeks before allergy season and continue throughout the season.
Insomnia
1 tsp honey
a few mint leaves
1 cup chamomile tea
Add honey and mint to tea. Allow leaves to soak, then remove before drinking. Sip the tea before going to bed in the evening.
Morning Sickness
1 tsp honey
1 tsp ginger root, peeled and sliced
bran (or water if sickness is severe)
Mix honey and ginger in a bowl. Add the bran and eat as a cereal.
Weight Loss Promotion
1 tsp honey
1/2 tsp cinnamon
Mix in a cup. Add boiling water and stir. Allow to cool a bit before drinking.
